L’InstameetItalia5, il primo Instameet intercontinentale che si terrà il 26-27-28 giugno, come anticipato ospiterà 17 special guest da tutto il mondo. Abbiamo deciso di presentarveli uno alla volta, dedicando loro una breve intervista, affinché possiate conoscerli meglio. Oggi vi presentiamo Barkın Laçin Özdemir (@barkinozdemir), da Istanbul, Turchia. Sempre in viaggio, documenta le sue trasferte con una serie di immagini di sé in condizioni sempre molto particolari e originali, al punto da essere riprese anche dall’account Instagram di National Geographic TV Turchia o da Meet South Africa, il sito dell’ufficio del turismo sudafricano.
Chi è Barkin Ozdemir? Come ti descriveresti?
Veramente, trovo molto difficile parlare di me. Ho 20 anni e studio economia all’università. Vivo a Istanbul ma cerco sempre di scoprire nuovi luoghi. La mia passione più grande è proprio quella per il viaggio.
Cosa dovrebbero sapere di te gli Instagramers?
Il mio stream su Instagram è diretta espressione dei miei viaggi. Quindi, quando carico una foto da qualunque parte del mondo, cerco sempre sia di insegnare qualcosa di quella precisa cultura che sto condividendo in quel momento sia di dare dettagli sull’esperienza che sto vivendo in quel preciso istante.
Il tuo stream è ricco di paesaggi mozzafiato da tutto il mondo. È questo ciò che ti piace fotografare o è solo successo perché ti è capitato di viaggiare così tanto?
Entrambe le cose in realtà. Prima di partire per un viaggio cerco sempre location pittoresche, specialmente attraverso Pinterest, ma talvolto capita che mi ci imbatta in modo casuale. Per esempio ho scalato una montagna molto nota del Sudafrica, a Cape Town, e quando sono arrivato in cima le nuvole stavano giusto passando sotto di me, per cui quando ho scattato quelle foto sembrava proprio che fossi in paradiso. Inoltre cerco sempre di entrare in contatto con Instagramers del luogo, perché credo sinceramente che sia il modo migliore per scoprire una città. Gli Instagramers locali conoscono tutto delle loro città e sono quindi in grado di mostrarvi i posti più segreti.
C’è un soggetto che vorresti tanto fotografare, ma che ancora non hai avuto l’occasione di trovare di fronte al tuo obiettivo?
Questa è la domanda perfetta che dà un senso al mio continuo viaggiare. Di fatto sto ancora cercando di scoprire la mia ispirazione.
Alcune delle tue foto sono estremamente creative. Come riesci a ispirare gli altri?
Mah, si tratta semplicemente di cercare soggetti diversi, diverse situazioni, anche in un panorama di scatti sostanzialmente simili.
E la tua di ispirazione, invece, da dove arriva?
Io sono una persona molto informale, cosa che mi spinge a esplorare un po’ tutto e ovunque. E ogni volta che mi trovo in un posto diverso, di fatto è il mio cuore a trovare l’ispirazione giusta.
Hai scoperto la passione per la fotografia grazie a Instagram o già scattavi foto prima dell’arrivo di questo social network?
No, devo assolutamente la mia passione a Instagram.
Cosa pensi del “nuovo Instagram” – ovvero quello in cui ci sono i video, le emoticon usate come hashtag … ecc- ?
Io credo che gli hashtag siano una parte importante del progetto complessivo di Instagram. Per questo l’introduzione delle emoji amplia la possibilità di scelta e di ricerca, in funzione di una maggiore ispirazione creativa. In più i video sono davvero fondamentali, dato che tutto il mondo digitale sta andando in questa direzione, e con Hyperlapse, per esempio, possiamo anche raccontare storie più lunghe di 15 secondi, di fatto.
Quale credi che sia il futuro di questo social network?
Le persone chiedono sempre più contenuti visivi e meno testo e dato che questo è proprio ciò che Instagram offre, secondo me non può che diventare più grande e ricco sia in termini di contenuti che di community.
Se dovessi chiedere a Instagram qualcosa di più, su cosa punteresti?
Sicuramente chiederei la app per iPad… vi prego!

Condividere foto quadrate, essere autentici e non preoccuparsi del numero di follower.

@lovedeathtravel un nomade vero. Un giorno lo trovi in Africa, l’altro giorno è in America e condivide sempre foto strepitose.

Who’s Barkin Ozdemir? How would you describe yourself?
Actually, it is hard to explain myself. I am 20 years old and I study business at university. I live in Istanbul but I always try to discover places. Travelling is my biggest passion.
What should Instagramers know about you?
My instagram journey is based on my trips. So, when I upload a photo from somewhere, I try to both teach that certain place’s culture and my experience about that destination to my followers.
Your stream is full of wonderful landscapes from all over the world. Is this what you like to take pictures to or did it just happen due to the fact that you travel a lot?
Both! Before I go on a trip, I always search picturesque places; especially through Pinterest but sometimes it just can happen coincidently. For example, I climbed a famous mountain in Cape Town, when I was in top of the mountain, clouds were passing the mountaion so when I took some shots, they turned out looking like we were in the heaven. Local instagrammers know everything about their city and they can show their secret places.
Is there a subject you are longing to photograph and still haven’t had the chance to?
This might be the question for my passion for travelling because I am still trying to discover my inspiration.
Some of your pictures show extreme creativity, even when you’re the subject (like here https://instagram.com/p/0nxrM5mDXd/?taken-by=barkinozdemir). How do you think you contribute to inspire others?
As you know that most of my Instagram photos are smiliar to each other in concept but I always try to show different subjects on my photos.
And where does your inspiration for creativity come from?
I am a very easy-going person so it pushes me to explore something or somewhere. And when I go somewhere my heart always finds a way.
Did you discover your passion for photography thanks to Instagram or did you use to take photos even before?
It is totally comes from Instagram!
What do you think of “the new Instagram” – I mean with videos, emoticons used as hashtags .. etc.?
Hashtags are important a part of Instagram projects. For this reason, having emojis can create a varity to choose from. That will inspire creavity. Also, with videos it is great because digital world is trending towards video content. With Hyperlapse, we also get a great chance of telling a bigger story on Instagram
What do you think the future of this social network is likely to be?
People are demanding more visual content and less articles. Instagram provides that and this means it is going to get bigger, richer in terms of both community and content.
Should you suggest Instagram to add something more, what would you ask for?
Instagram app for iPad please!

Share square photos, be genuine and dont care about number of followers!
