Sì, nasco come fotografa analogica.

Quanto a me, non potrei lavorare a lungo sullo stesso soggetto perché mi annoierei molto rapidamente.

uwa3Tell us about yourself and your story as a photographer

my name is uwa scholz and i’m a mobile photographer from berlin. i love to travel, i love photography and i love my family. i started taking photos as a child when my parents gave me a small (and probably cheap) camera.

Did it all start analogically?

yes, i was born an analogue photographer! i always loved to give my film rolls to the lab and loved to wait and see what my photos turned out. but by now i am used to the digital business. photography still is my passion and continues being rather fun than work or effort.

I see landscapes and people in your pics. What’s your favourite subject?

landscape and people seem to be a strange mixture in an instagram profile but to me they match just fine. i live in a big city full of people, but berlin is a city full of nature as well: parks, the tempelhof air field and lakes and much more. besides i love to travel to the countryside or seaside so my instagram always is a mix of all motives.

uwa2What’s the right mix to be successful on Instagram?

it seems that a uniform instagram stream has better chances to get featured – but not neccessarily so. i think that once you have found your style and language in photography it does not matter whether the subjects of/in your photos vary or not. and anyway, i could not work on a single subject for a long time, i’d get bored after a while. but nevertheless i admire people who manage to explore a single topic thoroughly – and i find their work interesting and not boring at all! abd getting a feature may not be the most important goal on instagram 😉

Should someone open an account today, what would you recommend him/her?

“be honest, be unique, be polite, be friendly, be creative, get inspired by other people but don’t just copy them – be authentic!” those are more than three keys but to me they are crucial. they are my suggestions on using the network (any network) as well.

What are your favourite accounts on Instagram?

there are so many great accounts and i love so many of them that i cannot name them 😉

What do you think is the future for this social network?

i hope that instagram (not the “institution” but the collective of people) will return to the community values and that instagrammers will focus more on photography, sharing and support and less on using instagram just to become famous! i personally hope that i can continue to be creative on instagram as i have been up to now and that i can keep on travelling and meeting other instagrammers from all over the place as i enjoy this so much!
