L’InstameetItalia5, il primo Instameet intercontinentale che si terrà il 26-27-28 giugno a Milano, come anticipato ospiterà 17 special guest da tutto il mondo. Abbiamo deciso di presentarveli uno alla volta, dedicando loro una breve intervista, affinché possiate conoscerli meglio.Oggi però ve ne presentiamo due. Il loro è un progetto “gemellare”, anche se in realtà non sono fratelli, ma cugini. Ritraggono la Svizzera tra montagne innevate e salti nella natura. Si chiamano Valentin e Roman e gestiscono @twintheworld_ch.
Parlateci un po’ di voi. Come nasce questo progetto?
E’ una storia lunga. In breve, siamo due cugini che vivono in Svizzera, ma siamo anche migliori amici. Ci conosciamo perfettamente e siamo sempre disponibili l’uno per l’altro. Ci piace vivere intensamente, imparare cose nuove, essere creative e intraprendere lunghe conversazioni filosofiche, oltre a molto altro.
L’idea di questo progetto nasce circa un anno e mezzo fa, quando abbiamo pensato di aprire un account Instagram congiunto, di ritorno da un Instameet svizzero dove ci siamo divertiti un sacco. Prima di questo momento facevamo solo foto con i nostri iPhone per piacere personale e per catturare qualche momento speciale. Tuttavia, siamo entrambi fan di @Wisslaren e quando abbiamo iniziato il progetto @Twintheworld_ch, abbiamo anche iniziato una ricerca su noi stessi: foto più belle, nuove composizioni. Ci siamo anche documentati leggendo post di professionisti e guardato video su ciò che fa di una foto una buona foto, per migliorare le nostre capacità.
@Twintheworld_ch è ormai diventato parte della nostra vita e praticamente ogni giorno cerchiamo di postare una immagine che racconti le nostre avventure più recenti loggandoci per vedere nuove foto da cui trarre ispirazione o semplicemente per leggere qualche commento.
Instagram è diventato una parte così importante delle nostre vite che organizziamo escursioni in montagna con gli amici per fare foto, stare in mezzo alla natura ed esplorare nuovi percorsi. All’inizio lo facevamo solo per Instagram, poi in realtà questa passione per l’esplorazione finalizzata alla fotografia è diventata addirittura più grande di un singolo account. E’ diventata una passione vera.
Cosa amate maggiormente fotografare?
Ci piacciono i panorami, soprattutto quelli montani, così come anche alla maggior parte dei nostri follower. E’ diventato quasi il nostro stile. Tuttavia ci sono così tanti tipi di fotografia (street-photography, ritratti, eccetera) che proprio è difficile dire una sola cosa. Vivendo nelle Alpi diciamo che ci è venuto più facile scegliere la fotografia di paesaggio, naturalmente.
Ma Instagram è solo fotografia per voi, o può essere anche video?
Instagram è sia per le foto che per i video. Ci sono un sacco di account bellissimi dedicati ai video; soprattutto ci piacciono quelli in time-lapse. Forse ne posteremo uno tra pochi giorni…
Secondo voi quale sarà il futuro di questo social media?
E’ una domanda complessa su cui non vogliamo speculare. E’ meraviglioso quanto sia cresciuto e quanti utenti abbia oggi. Vorremmo tanto che questo trend non si fermasse, tuttavia diciamo che cerchiamo di sfruttare tutte le possibilità che Instagram ci offre.
Quali sono i suggerimenti che vi sentireste di dare a chi oggi volesse aprire un account Instagram?
Sicuramente di divertirsi e cogliere il meglio da tutto ciò che significa essere un Instagramer: quindi non condividere foto solo per Instagram, ma soprattutto per divertirsi.
La creatività, poi, è un elemento importante, quindi non bisogna temere di essere diversi. Infine conoscere persone che amano fare foto e condividerle con il mondo.
Quali sono gli account che dovremmo assolutamente seguire, secondo voi?
Naturalmente @Wisslaren, ma anche @cedric9889, @explorators, @kitkat_ch e @frostyphoto.
C’è qualche progetto cui state lavorando e di cui potete parlarci?
In realtà no, ma stiamo pianificando sempre nuovi viaggi in cerca di nuove esperienze di vita.

Tell us about you and your project.
Well that’s a long story. To summarise: We are two cousins living in Switzerland. We are absolutely best friends. We know the other person as we know ourselves. We are always there for each other. We like to live intensively, to learn new things, to be creative, to have hour-long philosophical discussions and many other things.
It was a year and a half ago as the idea came to our minds to make an Instagram account together. It came to our minds because, we went on an Instameet in Switzerland and really enjoyed it. Afterwards we were fans of the famous Instagram photographer @Wisslaren. Before this point in time we took only pictures with our IPhones, mostly for pleasure and for capturing special moments. But when we started with Twintheworld_ch we systematically searched for good pictures and nice compositions, we also read Internet posts and watched videos on what makes a picture a good picture, to improve our skills.
Twintheworld_ch has become a part of our lives. Nearly every day we log in to Instagram to share a picture of our latest adventures, to see new inspirational pictures or just to read some comments.
Instagram has become such an important part of our lives, that we organise some hiking trips with friends, in order to take pictures, enjoying the nature and exploring new trails. At first we did it for Instagram, but now this whole exploring and photographical thing has become bigger than only an Instagram account, it has become a passion.
What do you like taking pictures to?
We love nice landscapes, especially with many mountains, and so do the most of our followers. It’s kind of our style.
There are so many types of photography; street-photography, portrait-photography and so on. Because we’re living in the alps, we’ve chosen the style of landscape-photography of course.
Is Instagram about photos only, according to you?
No, Instagram is for pictures and also for videos. There are lots of good accounts with awesome videos. We especially like time-lapse videos. Perhaps you are going to see one of them posted on our account soon.
What do you think is the future of this social network?
That’s a complex question. We really don’t like to speculate about it. It’s amazing how Instagram has grown up and how it’s now with so many users. We really hope this trend doesn’t stop. But somehow or other we enjoy all the possibilities Instagram gives us.
What would you suggest a new Instagram user should pay attention to?
– You should enjoy the whole process of being an Instagram user: that means not just doing it for Instagram, but for your own happiness.
– Creativity is very important. So don’t be afraid to be different.
– Get to know people who also enjoy taking pictures and sharing them with the world.
